Find answers to common questions about our wound care services

General Information

  • What is The Mobile Wound Center?

The Mobile Wound Center delivers physician-led, premium wound care directly to patients' homes. We combine advanced clinical treatment with the warmth and attentiveness of a concierge medical experience, serving Chattanooga and surrounding communities in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.

  • How quickly can you schedule a visit?

Patients are typically scheduled within 1–3 business days of referral receipt. For urgent cases, we often can see patients sooner. Contact us directly for same-day or next-day evaluations when needed.

  • What areas do you serve?

We serve Hamilton, Marion, Sequatchie, Rhea, Meigs, and Bradley Counties in Tennessee, as well as Walker and Catoosa Counties in North Georgia.

  • Is this the same as home health care?

No. We provide physician-led wound care that complements, not replaces, home health services. Our advanced practitioners deliver specialized wound treatment you would typically receive in a hospital or outpatient wound center — all in your home.

Services & Treatment

  • What types of wounds do you treat?

We treat diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries/bedsores, venous and lymphedema ulcers, post-surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, infections, cellulitis, chronic non-healing wounds, skin tears, and minor burns.

  • What advanced therapies do you offer?

We offer sharp, enzymatic, and mechanical debridement; cellular tissue products (skin substitutes); ABI, Doppler, and PRC vascular testing; infection evaluation and management; edema management; compression therapy; and negative pressure wound therapy support.

  • What happens during a home visit?

Your provider arrives with all necessary supplies, evaluates your wound and overall health, performs treatment (debridement, advanced dressings, etc.), provides education to you and caregivers, documents everything, and coordinates with your other healthcare providers.

  • Do you coordinate with my other doctors?

Absolutely. We communicate directly with home-health nurses, primary care providers, specialists (podiatry, vascular, surgery), and caregivers to ensure unified, consistent care.

Insurance & Billing

  • Do you accept Medicare?

Yes, we accept Medicare along with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, and VA programs. We verify benefits prior to your first visit.

  • Will my insurance cover home wound care?

Most insurance plans cover medically necessary wound care services. We handle insurance verification and authorization prior to starting treatment to ensure coverage and explain any out-of-pocket costs upfront.

  • Do you bill my insurance directly?

Yes, we bill your insurance directly and handle all the paperwork. You'll only be responsible for your copay, deductible, or any non-covered services as determined by your plan.

  • What if I have questions about billing?

Our team is available to answer any billing questions before and after your visit. We believe in transparent, clear communication about costs.
